NFL MVP

Now do not laugh but this year's NFL MVP should be none other than Peyton Manning.  One might wonder what his stat line is because he must be tearing the league up to warrant the most prized NFL award.  Well you know what, Peyton Manning does not have a single touchdown pass this year, a single completion or even attempted a single pass.  The truth is Peyton Manning has not played all season and will likely miss the rest of the season with a neck injury.  So how could he possibly be the MVP then?!

The Colts have not missed the playoffs under Peyton Manning since 2003 and in 2008 was the only year they did not win their division.  They have been to 4 AFC chamionship games, 2 Super Bowls and in 2006 won the franchises only Super Bowl since moving to Indianapolis.  From 2003-2011 Manning won the MVP 4 times but this year when he has been on the sidelines the whole year is actually his most compeling case for the award.

This years Indianapolis Colts are presently 0-6 and might be the worst team in football.  Their offense is now terrible and they have becoming the laughing stock of football.  Their whole team is exactly the same as last years team except one man, the quarterback Peyton Manning.

Now Arron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers or Tom Brady of the New England Patriots will most likely win the MVP this year.  They are on winning teams, have unreal numbers and have actually participated in games this year unlike Manning.  They are both amazing players but the Colts went from 14-2 two seasons ago and playing in the Super Bowl to this year where they will lucky to win two games.  The only reason for this twelve game swing is Manning's presence in the huddle.  So if their are any MVP voters out there (I highly doubt they are reading a college student's blog but just in case I am wrong) do the right thing and award Peyton Manning his record fifth NFL MVP award, he deserves it!
