Fantasy Football Action

The "sport" of fantasy football is one that is rapidly growing in this country.  People all around the country that were not talented enough to make it to the NFL can live their "fantasy" by feeling like they are part of the football atmosphere.  Fantasy football involves a group of 8 or 10 friends drafting the players they feel will produce the best stats for their teams that season.  Fantasy football is amazing because it allows fans from a certain team to follow the enitre NFL more because they may have a player on their fantasy team playing.  For example, if someone drafts Phillip Rivers as their quarterback than they will watch every San Diego Chargers game to see how he is doing where if he was not on their team they would not care how the Chargers are doing.

I think people precieve fantasy football is a joke and something that is not important.  I can not speak for others but I know that my friends and I take it very seriously due to the fact that we love football and the winner wins 400 dollars.  We check our teams a few teams each week to see who we should start and who we should pick up from the free agents to help improve and our teams and get that important win that week.

Many people will be surprised to hear that their are actaully fantasy football "experts". They predict what will happen each week and analayze which players will do what on Sundays.  There are even hourly shows on ESPN just dedicated to helping random people all over the country with their fantasy teams.  ESPN.com gives us their weekly rankings each week to help pople make tough start or sit decisions on many players.

The big fantasy news this week involves Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford's appareant ankle injury.  He is also my fantasy quarterback so this is awful news! :(  However, to see who fantasy owners of Stafford should pick up to replace him they must look at a website like this to see how these experts feel will give their team the best chance to achieve more fantasy points at the quarterback postition.
